What you will make:
The Nila Folded Kebaya Skirt is a modern, wearable interpretation of the traditional sarong-style kebaya skirt. Its distinctive double-folded front panel creates the appearance of a carefully wrapped sarong while providing the security and ease of a sewn garment.
Waist and back darts gently shape the skirt for a flattering silhouette, while the elasticated waistband provides added ease and comfort. A side zip with a hook-and-bar closure gives the skirt a clean, secure finish.
Designed with both style and practicality in mind, the Nila can be paired with a kebaya or other heritage-inspired blouse for festive occasions, or worn with a simple top for a more relaxed contemporary look.
You may also choose to add practical side pockets. While the photos show the skirt at knee length, participants can shorten or lengthen it to suit their preferred style and fit.
Patterns for hip size 86cm to 110cm are available. (Please get in touch with us first prior to registration if your measurements do not fit the hip size above.)
