Willow Samfu Expansion Pack - Willow Cheong Sam

NOTE: This pattern is designed for sewists who already own the Willow Samfu Top pattern. You will not be able to make the Willow Cheongsam with this pattern if you do not own the Willow Samfu Top pattern.

Inspired by our well-loved Willow Samfu Top, the Willow Modern Cheongsam Dress offers fashionista sewists more ways to enjoy the iconic side opening and asymmetrical collar in their everyday wardrobe. 

The dress presents a modern take on the traditional cheongsam, featuring a mandarin collar with an asymmetrical neckline and side opening. The mandarin collar serves as a nod to cultural heritage, symbolising elegance and tradition, while the asymmetrical design introduces a contemporary edge to the classic form.

Designed to move effortlessly between occasions, the dress balances structure and comfort. The bodice flows into a softly gathered skirt with an elasticated waist, providing ease of wear throughout the day. Adjustable waist ties allow you to fine-tune the fit, while functional side pockets add practicality to this flattering silhouette. 

The Willow Cheong Sam is not limited to festive moments. It is a versatile, year-round piece that can be styled casually for daily wear or dressed up for more polished occasions.

• Bias tape: 2.5cm wide, 3 yard long
• Elastic band: 8mm wide
• Fusible interfacing for collar and placket
